The conference has emerged as a great introduction to the sort of nights later when we will describe the work that some Dutch architects have made in Italy and opportunities for Italian architects in the Netherlands. A mutual exchange of ideas and approaches characterize so this series of talks which will end in December.
The first evening opened with a comprehensive description of the Dutch and Italian landscape architecture.
If the main problem of 'Holland is that young architects are struggling to find space to grow, for Italy, the speakers speak of a reflective phase, a time when you are trying to figure out which direction you are taking the' architecture.
The participants have also focused on the "mindset" of the Italian architects, the "grid parameters" may be too rigid and sometimes not suitable to realize a robust approach to foreign architects.
In this sense, the Dutch architects who will present evenings future will clarify the opportunities and difficulties in relations with the Italian architects.
During the evening was then presented with a series of images taken from the history of Dutch art, characterized by extreme natural images, an approach to anti-academic, descriptive and pragmatic elements are reflected in the architecture Dutch. And 'the landscape, to result in the Dutch architecture, and not the other way: the architects are always faced with the unique conformation of the Netherlands, consists of islands surrounded by canals and the architecture has to deal constantly with technical issues and its impact on the environment.
Adapting the system of channels as opportunities, think of the agricultural landscape as an integral part of the territory, finding new spaces fit into paeaggio: these and many others are the main points on which the Dutch architects are trying to intervene and that, in the next few evenings, will be studied and clarified.
